Dental cleanings are performed under general anesthesia so each tooth and the surrounding tissue can be evaluated carefully.
Clean thoroughly
Plaque and calculus are removed so we can see the condition of the teeth and identify disease that may have been hidden.
Treat what cannot be saved
If a tooth is damaged or diseased beyond repair, we will determine whether extraction is necessary and use appropriate pain control.

Daily brushing with toothpaste made specifically for pets is the most effective way to slow plaque buildup between professional cleanings. We can help you choose an appropriate product and discuss a routine your pet is likely to tolerate.
Home care is valuable, but it cannot remove established calculus or correct an infected, fractured, or painful tooth.
